Wayne Gordon, an Inuvialuit from Aklavik, has been involved with IDC at the board level for more than a decade. The Board of the Inuvialuit Regional Corporation saw great potential in Wayne and appointed him to be Chair of IDC on July 1, 2004. Since that time, Wayne's skills as a Chair have developed so well that Nunasi (IDC's partners in NorTerra) asked that Wayne remain the Chair of NorTerra rather than undertake the normal two year rotation.
Wayne is best known for his:
- Strong understanding of business
- Great credibility in Inuvialuit communities
- Willingness to listen to shareholders and customers with concerns or comments
- Sound judgment and fair treatment
Wayne takes great pride in IDC, especially when IDC or one of its investments can do something "good" for the beneficiaries.
