Time and a changing economy required that IDC adapt to new circumstances. The recent economic decline and uncertainty in the timing of the Mackenzie Gas Project has required that IDC look beyond its traditional geographic and market sectors to find business opportunities that can provide sustainable earnings. At the same time, IDC is committed and well-positioned to participate in opportunities afforded by oil and gas exploration and development in the Mackenzie Delta/Beaufort Sea.

IDC is based at the offices of the Inuvialuit Corporate Group in Inuvik, Northwest Territories and is one of the largest employers in Inuvik. We are proud of our Corporate offices and of the competent, dedicated team working within them. We are also proud of the fact that IDC earnings stay in the Western Arctic and are re-invested in the community and Inuvialuit beneficiaries through IDC's contribution to annual dividends. This is one of the points that differentiate IDC and its portfolio of northern service companies from others - business with IDC contributes to a sustainable economy in the North generally, and the Western Arctic specifically.
